J・D・ヴァンス氏は、共和党の仲間たちに対し、社会主義を受け入れる若いアメリカ人を非難してはならないと警告した。

同副大統領は、2006年以降ほぼ2倍に高騰した住宅価格（現在、一戸建て住宅の平均価格は43万ドルを超えている）への対応に失敗した責任は、共和党が負わなければならないと主張した。

ヴァンス氏は、トランプ政権はすでに住宅価格を「安定化」させ、若いアメリカ人向けに中産階級の雇用を創出する数兆ドル規模の新規投資を推進していると述べている。
